The Badatz Igud Rabbonim BIR is one of
the largest Kosher Certification organisations in
Europe
today. The BIR is
recognised as a Mehadrin hechsher and is universally
accepted for the highest standards in the Kashrus
industry. The BIR certification department certifies
products all over the world and utilises the services of
experts in the field of kashrut and food production
technology.
Who are these personalities?
Rabbi Osher Westheim Ztl:
Was nearly 20 years Dayan at the Manchester Beth Din before he founded
the BIR Badatz Igud Rabbonim with the blessing of his mechutan Rav Shmuel Wosner Ztl.
During his life he was regarded as one of the greatest European Rabbinical figures
and was a world renowned Kashrus expert and Rav Hamachshir. He was extremely
well respected throughout the Food Industry and Kashrus world.
His mastering of the Laws of Kashrus enabled him after thoroughly analysing
the technical data, to propose the best solution in compliance with the
requirements of a flawless standard of Kashrut. He was well-known on the
American & European continents especially in the sweets and candy industry as
well as Kosher certification of raw materials. The industrial products carrying his
Kosher logo actually profit from his international reputation even within the most
demanding orthodox communities. To give some examples of this competence,
Rav Westheim as a director of the Kashrus of the Manchester Beth Din,
after long years of work and research, achieved kosher accreditation
for a number of products of the Kellogg's company. Other multinationals
like Proctor & Gamble, Cargill, Heinz, Arcor, Camille Bloch, Elite and BP Chemicals
among others have come to rely on his expertise and professional skill.
Rabbi Shulem Landau Shlita:
is the son in law of Rav Westheim Ztl and the Rav Hamachshir of the Badatz Igud Rabbonim.
He is a Talmudical scholar and expert in the Rabbinical legislation. He writes extensively
on Jewish Law and answers the questions of the general public. He is very knowledgeable
in the field of the shechita - ritual slaughter and in Kosher productions. He sees his role
to continue the kashrus legacy of Rabbi Westheim Ztl and continuing our high Badatz standards
of Super Kosher for which we are famous for.
Rabbi Danny Moore:
To coordinate these activities and competences within one Kashrus or Kashrut organization
is the Kashrus Director. His great expertise in connection with Kosher industrial production
is supported by more than twenty years of practice in the field and working for other Kashrus
organisations. He worked for the KLBD London Beth Din as Certification Manager and prior to
that at Kedassia and as a Kashrus consultant for other Kosher organisations and is highly skilled
in successfully implementing a high standard of Kosher certification. He is intimately involved
in all aspects of the certification process. Proceeding very professionally, he is offering BIR
Customers a partnership which will enable the manufacturer to achieve the greatest value added
for a product carrying the BIR label and ensures that the product meet the strictest requirements
of the orthodox communities.

is the Director of our highly successful Israel office based in Elad. He brings with him
over 20 year’s experience in the Kosher world working for BIR and previously for the OK
